Getting ready is all part of the fun of a wedding. Those last few moments you spend with those closest to you before you officially become husband and wife are nerve-racking and exciting all at the same time. Lucy and Andrew had chosen to get married at Summerfields in Bittern on the Mornington Peninsula, a breathtaking weather board house surrounded by 20 hectares of of Olive Groves and stunning landscape. It’s wedding days like this that I love my job as a Wedding photographer in Melbourne.
On this warm muggy day, with rain never far off, Lucy was getting ready upstairs, eager to meet her wonderful fiancé Andrew in just a little while. The ceremony was planned for outside, but would the rain hold off?
For Lucy, the time spent with her family and friends was the most precious. So many parts of her special day were put together with love and by hand which made the day really personal. Heather, Andrew’s Dad’s partner, spent many hours arranging the creative table decorations for the reception. Julie, Lucy’s aunty, arranged the bouquet – a beautiful blend of David Austin roses and wild flowers picked right from her grandfather’s garden. The creamy hues mixed with the pale orange and deep green accents seemed to make the collection of blooms subtly glow when held against the ivory fabric of the Lucy’s dress.
With help from her three bridesmaids she donned a beautiful off white slender linen gown made by Bachini and Hill – the detailed bodice and loose bow at the back made the gown appear almost ethereal.
The time had finally arrived and, though the drizzle began to drift down, nothing could spoil the romance between Lucy and Andrew on their special day. Lucy had an excited smile on her face all day!
The crowd of family and friends followed the couple inside the beautiful old Summerfields mansion to witness their union. The beautiful living room had large windows and provided a wonderful setting for an elegant, intimate ceremony. It was so lovely to see how easy going and full of love and excitement Lucy and Andrew were. They never let anything deter them from enjoying every minute together.
The guests enjoyed yummy food, wonderful moving speeches and funky music by Raleigh and the Bombastics (including a beautifully choreographed first dance between Lucy and Andrew!)
Lucy and Andrew’s wedding was simply one of the most beautiful I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. You can see the true and beautiful love that the bride and groom share in every shot. I wish them all the best in their future lives together. xxx
